Martial Arts training is a fun and safe activity that everyone in your family can enjoy. Capital Northeast Martial Arts offers a variety of programs suitable for all ages, ability levels, objectives and schedules.
Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do is our core program, and translates to the “Art of foot and hand.” While focusing on fast, powerful kicking and punching techniques, Tae Kwon Do promotes discipline, physical fitness and self-confidence for men, women and children of all ages. Training involves constant repetition of basic motions in order to emphasize skills and perfect techniques.
Our kids programs are designed to improve physical fitness and abilities, help with the development of social and learning skills, promote self-discipline, and the development of self confidence.
Little Dragons (ages 4-5)
The focus of Little Dragons is to introduce a child to exercise and learning in a fun, structured and supportive environment, and prepare them for the more formal study of Tae Kwon Do in the Juniors Class (for children ages 6 and up). Little Dragons earn belts and stripes, which encourages goal setting and helps to motivate them.
Juniors Classes (ages 6-13)
Our program is based on the traditional teachings of Tae Kwon Do and is designed to improve physical fitness, coordination, flexibility, speed and mobility in a fun structured and encouraging environment. Most classes are offered by belt level, which fosters instruction geared towards the skill and ability of the students.
Adult Classes (ages 14 and up)
Our adult program is also based on the traditional teachings of Tae Kwon Do and is designed to improve physical fitness, coordination, flexibility, speed and mobility in a fun structured and encouraging environment. Classes are offered in an open format with all belt levels studying and working each other.
Self Defense - Defensive Hapkido
Defensive Hapkido is a stripped down version of Traditional Korean Hapkido. Defensive Hapkido utilizes the techniques that best adapt to themselves to real life self-defense situations. Defensive Hapkido employs low kicks and joint locking techniques designed to subdue attackers quickly and efficiently. Within our system of Defensive Hapkido, we have incorporated some of the striking techniques of Krav Maga and Muy Thai, along with the ground techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting wit the goal of gaining a dominant position from which to force an attacker to submit. It promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant.
Tai Chi
Tai Chi in its most popular form is primarily used as a meditative exercise for the body. Many of these movements are originally derived from the martial arts and are performed in a slow, gracefully movements. There are also defensive aspects of Tai Chi that are of considerable interest.
